Hello! I am Uttam Kumar Deb, an Agricultural Economist from Bangladesh.

I am at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), India as a Special Project Scientist--Economics. I am involved in assessing the impacts of genetic enhancement research in Pearl Millet, Sorghum and Groundnut.

I have studied at the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) and UP Diliman, Philippines.

I have worked at the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Institute of Post Graduate Studies in Agriculture (IPSA) which is now Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University at different stages of my life in various capacities.

I am interested on understanding and promoting knowledge related to agricultural and rural development, impact of modern agricultural technologies, and technology policy.
